Oregon Distillers Guild’s “T.O.A.S.T.: The Oregon Artisan Spirit Tasting” fundraiser and tasting event to coincide with ADI conference in Portland this Spring.

Feb. 23, 2011. Portland, Oregon

The Oregon Distillers Guild (ODG) will be holding a public spirits tasting showcasing local and national craft spirits on Friday, April 8th, 2011 at the Tiffany Center in SW Portland. This will be an opportunity to taste the incredible variety of craft spirits being produced in Oregon and around the country, all in one location. Distillers and owners will be on hand to pour samples and answer questions. There will be over 40 distilleries pouring. The event’s proceeds support the Oregon Distillers Guild.
The Oregon Bartenders Guild will be on hand, mixing and pouring samples of cocktails featuring local spirits. This will allow show attendees to experience how some of the spirits being tasted at T.O.A.S.T. can be used in actual cocktails. As the bartenders mix their drinks, they will also be discussing the hows and whys of the techniques they are using, making this an opportunity for the public to learn about the art and skills involved in mixing cocktails.
Mayor Sam Adams will be the guest of honor and will be speaking at 5.30.

2011 is the first year that the American Distilling Institute (ADI) will hold their annual conference outside of Louisville or San Francisco—and they chose Portland. We thought it only fitting, then, that the first ODG spirit tasting coincide with ADI’s conference. ADI will be bringing 300–400 of its members to Portland for the first week of April. T.O.A.S.T. will be an opportunity for the ODG to flaunt the diversity and quality of Oregon’s distillation industry to a national audience. Many of ADI’s members will also be pouring samples of their own products at T.O.A.S.T., making it an ideal opportinity for the public to experience spirits that may not be available here in Oregon yet.
The Oregon Distillers Guild is the nation’s first distillers guild. The ODG is a non-profit organization with the purpose of promoting Oregon spirits both locally and nationally, promoting Oregon as the premier tourist destination for spirit aficionados, and supporting legislative agendas beneficial to our industry and the small business community.
