Hello everyone. I know we only pass in the hall these day but I promise to hang out soon after school. This might read like a press release but I promise I wrote it with much heart. I would be great to see you there. All of us have been longing to hear, or read, these 4 words: ABSINTHE MARTEAU IS HERE! I speak the truth, next week will mark the addition of Absinthe Marteau on Oregon liquor store shelves. Now is your chance to take home the Hammer. House Spirits Distillery Open House/Absinthe Marteau Release! Saturday, November 8th, 1pm-4pm Free to the public, 21 and over 2025 SE 7th, Portland, Ore. House Spirits Distillery, makers of Aviation Gin, Medoyeff Vodka and Krogstad Aquavit, opens it's doors for a Saturday afternoon to taste, tour and talk about the their current and up-coming products. This event will also mark the BIG release of Absinthe Marteau (www.absinthemarteau.com), the highly anticipated domestically-made, historical & beautiful child of Gwyidon Stone (www.wormwoodsociety.org), which will be for sell in the House Spirits Store. Tastings will also be taking place in the House Spirits store, tours will be conducted every 20 minutes from 1pm-3:40pm. I'm setting this for "General" since it's an event but after the release it would be great to start up something just regarding the Marteau in "Spirits". We're looking at this first release of the Marteau to be for Oregon, we love you so. Washington neighbors should have a pinch soon. Best---Matt Mount, distiller, House Spirits Distillery

I read reviews of those over at wormwoodsociety, and they were all slavering over it -- not at all the response they've given most of the other absinthes available in the US. And this is supposedly designed with cocktails in mind . . . I want a bottle!

I have half finished my first bottle It is great at night with chocolate, but even better in the morning before coffee.

Thank you House Spirits.  I've brought this in and it's been really fun to have in the house.  I also have the le tourment and we offer a half pour of each as a menu choice.  It knocks people's socks off that there is an absinthe being produced right here in Oregon of such quality.  I hope one day to come up that way and see where the magic happens.
