It appears that a number of distilleries (Germany?) are producing Old Tom gins. Does anyone know of any available, or due to be available, on OLCC Land?

Boords makes an old tom, I have had a friend bring two bottles from SF last week.  I have some behind my bar for sampling use only.  You are welcome to stop by and try them at Carlyle Restaurant.  But I don't know of any available to buy in Oregon.

"Old Tom" has shown up in the limited listings at the OLCC, without any mention of the brand. Pearl Specialty has promised to look into this and get some if it's available. I suppose it could be Boords but who knows?

In the increasingly-unlikely chance that anyone will read this . . . Pearl Specialty has Hayman's Old Tom Gin in stock, although I got the impression they didn't have a lot. They also have Rothman & Winter Creme de Violette (Austria) on the shelf.

    Where did everybody go?

Ransom is Fantastic. Though some may think the cardamom is overwhelming and argue whether it is gin at all. The new term is "botanical spirit" according the 21st Century Gin Seminar at TOTC 09.

     Try this original Cocktail

    1.5 oz Ransom

    .75 oz Dolin Blanc

I am going to have to try this.  I heart celery bitters, its really my favorite thing lately!  We do a variation on the French 75/raspberry puree/germain/Ransom which recipe was procured though the wonderful Kathy Casey. Mmm Mmm.  Thank you Kathy!  It is delish!
