Perhaps not actually distillation per se, but the blog Playing with Fire and Water, in today's posting mentions a rotary evaporator, capable of separating wine into volatiles and water (up to 130proof). Anyone used/seen/heard of such awesome application of angular momentum?

The products in yesterday's workshop were clear brandies, or eau de vies, of two wines: Madeira and Beaumes de Venise.

Ah, we can wish, but unfortunately, home distillation or just distilling w/o a distillery license is highly illegal.
