Sorry so late to this thread. I've already been in discussion w/ Timothy Davey about teaching a rye/bourbon class in June. We'll set the date in the next week & post a notice to everyone asap. Also, several tequila reps are anxious to teach either August or September; I think it's a topic everyone can stand to learn a little more about.
As for BBQs, we can schedule a party at some point, but I'd like to keep that separate from classes. July is most likely out, unless someone else wants to take up the mantle; several of us wil be gone for Tales of the Cocktail in the middle of the month, & will have no time to dedicate to this.
That said, August would be a great month to teach seasonal ingredients, perhaps with a few sangrias in the mix. & I'd like to propose October for a seminar on technique.
Here's a tentative then:
June: The World of Rye & Bourbon, history production & tasting w/ Tim Davey
July: Off
September: Seasonal Ingredients & local product (w/ a trip to Sauvie Island)
October: Technique (stirring/shaking/muddling/ice)
I see no reason not to be scheduling 6 months+ out, so shoot some thoughts for Nov/Dec
